I have a BA degree in English and an MA in Information and Library Studies, and Chartered with the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals in 1999. I have worked in various library environments and am have chaired a working group leading school libraries in Leicestershire towards a 2020 Vision for the future. My publications include articles in School Librarian and School Libraries In View, the booklist Riveting Reads for 8-12 Year Olds (School Library Association), and various articles and booklists for Library Services for Education. I recently undertook an investigation into how school librarians use communities of practice to further their continuing professional development as part of a Certificate of Higher Education in Management. I was also profiled in Working in Schools and Colleges published by Connexions.
